Moving on up: our latest promotion at Tinder Corp

by Tinder Corp Media, 17th January 2022

You may remember a while ago we told you about Junior Fibre Engineer Sean Marriott. Sean joined Tinder in September 2020 after getting his Fibre splicing qualifications. His previous internship at Port Lympne Zoo had been ended due to the pandemic and CEO John saw his potential; hiring him and helping him enrol to study the relevant qualifications.

Despite joining the team at such a challenging time, Sean was quick to adapt and passed his one year probation with flying colours, going on to head up his own team.

Well we’re very happy to say that Sean has now been promoted to full Fibre Engineer and is already excelling at the role!

His responsibilities include overseeing the smooth running and supervision of his own van, team and site-works; as well as mentoring junior engineers, ensuring key deliverables are met and reporting to our ever growing Network Infrastructure Team and administration.

We asked Sean how it’s going so far:

“It’s going really well! I’m enjoying the responsibility and the opportunity to find solutions when faced with difficult scenarios. I’m reinforcing my knowledge by teaching the new members of T(inder)NIT and passing on tricks of the trade that I’ve learnt.

I’m over the moon to have been promoted to full Fibre engineer. I relish being left to my own devices to complete the required work, but I always know that I have the support of the extended TNIT and Tinder teams if/when required.

I now have the opportunity to continue growing and improving my skill set and knowledge surrounding fibre optics. With Tinder continually expanding and growing within the cabling division, more opportunities and sites are coming thick and fast and we’re learning new techniques along the way. All in all I’m really excited for the next chapter with Tinder as a full Fibre Engineer”

Congratulations Sean – you deserve it
