Here at Tinder Corp we’re big fans of ‘reuse, recycle’ so the Free Wharf site in Shoreham was the ideal project for us. A regenerated brownfield site, Free Wharf aims to make more efficient use of the available land, which in turn will help preserve local green spaces and areas of natural beauty.
This classically designed site will eventually comprise 536 mixed tenure homes on the edge of the Shoreham Waterfront, and is being spearheaded by the Southern Housing Group.
Tinder Corp, in partnership with Hyperoptic, have been working on the site since May 2023, and have been engaged to install cabling to two blocks of flats at the centre of the riverside development. Our installations in Block H and Block G1 total just shy of 100 plots, so not a massive job, but definitely a worthwhile one. We were invited in to the site by the developer and Hyperoptic slightly earlier in the process than we normally are to assist in ensuring a smooth development throughout. We’ve created really good relationships with the teams on site and the developers, so it’s been a really nice project for our engineers.
We are currently on track, and have installed the Hyperoptic internal equipment to the developer’s satisfaction. We’ve also commenced work testing the fibre optic cable for the FTTH (Fibre to the home) development. We’ll soon be returning to site to continue our work creating the network and providing super-fast internet broadband speeds to all occupants.
